Mark Gerek was 93KHJ's first Station Manager and on-air morning host. Mark joined the 93KHJ Crew on March 15, 2001, and was an instant hit with 93KHJ's listeners. Besides his daily morning show, Mark also enjoyed fishing and scuba diving in the warm tropical waters of the South Pacific.
Tragically, Mark disappeared while scuba diving near Fagatele Bay on August 11, 2001. The Coast Guard and local authorities searched for over a week, but were never able to locate his body.
